Branch Manager
I first walked through these doors – when we were Brian Bass Travel – back on the 2nd of September 1989 as a junior member of the team. I progressed through the 1990’s and was appointed Joint Manager of Worldchoice Travel in February 2002, when Brian Bass took his well-earned retirement. From early 2022, I became the sole Branch Manager for the store.
Many changes and challenges over the years, but we are a strong, dedicated and determined team who always pride ourselves on our customer service levels and our independence to offer the widest possible choice for our customers.
I feel very lucky to have worked alongside some great people in our teams over the years and we have all gelled together so well. They certainly become an extension to your own family.
We have the experience and knowledge to help put together all kinds of travel arrangements, from short city breaks, UK holidays, beach holidays, cruises, right up to Round the World bespoke itineraries.
Countries visited:
South Africa, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, Singapore, Mauritius, UAE, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Egypt, USA, Canada, Costa Rica, various Caribbean Islands, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Slovenia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Tunisia, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Iceland, Ireland, Channel Islands.

Favourite destination:
I get asked this a lot! I loved South Africa with all its diversity and mix of bustling cities and wild safaris. India was an incredible experience and a total blast on the senses. Costa Rica with its rainforests and wildlife was truly spectacular. To be honest, I just enjoy travelling and make the most of everywhere I go as I feel it’s such a privilege.
Last trip:
My last foreign trip was a long weekend visit to see family in Dubai before COVID, back in January 2020. As well as seeing my family, whilst there, I also took part in the Dubai Marathon which was an incredible event to be a part of.
Where next?
My travel “to-do” list is still quite extensive. My dream would be to drive the full length of Route 66, East to West from Chicago to Los Angeles. And if the budget allows, add on a trip to Hawaii for good measure. That may have to wait until my retirement.
Travel tip:
Plan, Plan, Plan. Do some research, either yourself or with the help of travel experts like ourselves. Whatever type of holiday/travel you are arranging, get an idea of what you want from it. Are there some excursions, or must-see sights that you have in mind? Chances are, you won’t be the only ones who want them, so check if anything needs to be prebooked to avoid disappointment.
